EXTERIOR LIGHTING Safety Recalls

Moderate #09V280000 Plain English
Component

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Manufacturer
HYUNDAI CARIBBEAN-PUERTO RICO
What Happened
The stop lamp switch in your vehicle controls your brake lights and some safety features. It's possible that it could fail, causing your brake lights to not turn on or to stay on when you're not using the brakes, and it could also stop you from shifting out of park or disable your cruise control when you press the brake pedal.
Risk if Unfixed
If the stop lamp switch fails, you might not be able to signal to other drivers that you're stopping, which could lead to a crash. The switch could also cause your vehicle to malfunction in other ways, making it harder to drive safely.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will replace the faulty switch for free. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.
