What Happened
The electronic oil pump in your Palisade, Tucson, Sonata, Elantra, or Kona is a small computer-controlled pump that helps your engine run smoothly. In some 2023-2024 models, a faulty electrical component can cause the pump to overheat.
Risk if Unfixed
If the oil pump controller overheats, it could cause a fire in your vehicle, which is a serious risk to your safety.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will inspect the oil pump controller and replace it if necessary, all at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and park your vehicle outside and away from flammable materials until the repair is done.

Original — What Happened
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Palisade Tucson, 2023 Sonata, Elantra, and Kona vehicles. The electronic controller for the Idle Stop & Go oil pump assembly may contain damaged electrical components that can cause the pump controller to overheat.

Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will inspect and replace the electric oil pump controller, as necessary, free of charge.
