What Happened
The fuel tank valve in your vehicle is a safety device that helps prevent fuel spills. It might not be closing properly and could allow fuel to leak out in a rollover situation.
Risk if Unfixed
If your fuel tank valve fails to close properly and your vehicle rolls over, fuel could spill onto the ground or other hot surfaces, which could catch fire.

Your Hyundai dealer will install an additional fuel tank valve to ensure your safety. This repair is free, so you should schedule it as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 301, "FUEL SYSTEM INTEGRITY" A VALVE ON THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY MAY NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. IF A VEHICLE ROLLS OVER AND THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY VALVE IS NOT PROPERLY CLOSED, FUEL SPILLAGE MAY OCCUR.
