ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL
Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The engine bearings in your 2023-2025 Rogue are designed to keep your engine running smoothly. However, in rare cases, if the engine oil breaks down due to high temperatures, the bearings can seize and cause engine failure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the engine fails while you're driving, you could lose power and control of the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. In the worst-case scenario, a bearing failure could also cause an engine fire.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will update the software that controls the engine, inspect the vehicle for any issues, and test drive it to make sure everything is working properly. They'll also check the oil pan for any metal debris, and if necessary, replace the engine at no cost to you.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. Original — Risk if Unfixed
Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.
