Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM)

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) is like the brain of your engine, controlling everything that makes it run. In your 2017-2019 Rogue Hybrid, there's a bracket that holds the ECM in place, and if it comes into contact with the engine harness, it could damage the wires.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wires get damaged, a fuse could blow, causing your engine to stall while you're driving. This could make it hard to control your vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will install a protective cover over the engine harness to prevent damage, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:ANTI-THEFT:IMMOBILIZER/PROXIMITY:KEY/SENDER

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The jackknife key in your Rogue or Rogue Sport is the part that keeps your engine running when you're driving. In certain models, the key can fold up while you're driving, which could shut off the engine without warning.
Risk if Unfixed
If the key folds up while you're driving, your engine could stall, and your airbags might not deploy in a crash, which could increase the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will add a small spacer to the key slot, making it less likely to fold up, and this repair is free. You'll get a notification letter in August 2023, but you should schedule the repair as soon as possible to stay safe on the road.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
Your vehicle's back-up camera system helps you see what's behind you when you're reversing. In certain 2018-2019 Nissan models, the camera settings can be adjusted incorrectly, so the image doesn't show up on the display.
Risk if Unfixed
If the back-up camera display is blank, you could fail to see pedestrians, objects, or other cars in your path when reversing, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will update the back-up camera software to ensure the display works correctly, and this repair is on the house – free of charge. When you get the recall notice, schedule the fix to have peace of mind on the road.
