Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM)
Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) is like the brain of your engine, controlling everything that makes it run. In your 2017-2019 Rogue Hybrid, there's a bracket that holds the ECM in place, and if it comes into contact with the engine harness, it could damage the wires.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wires get damaged, a fuse could blow, causing your engine to stall while you're driving. This could make it hard to control your vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will install a protective cover over the engine harness to prevent damage, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
