AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION

Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The Occupant Classification System (OCS) in your vehicle is a sensor that helps decide whether to turn on or off the passenger air bag. In some 2013-2017 models, this sensor might mistakenly think a grown-up is a kid, or that the seat is empty even if someone is sitting there.
Risk if Unfixed
If the passenger air bag doesn't turn on in a crash, you or your passenger could get seriously hurt.
Free Fix
Your dealer will reprogram or replace the faulty OCS sensor free of charge to ensure your passenger air bag works as it should. You'll get a second notice when the parts are ready, and you can schedule the repair then.
