What Happened
The valve on your fuel tank is supposed to close tightly to prevent fuel leaks. In some models, it might not seal properly, which could cause fuel to spill out.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in an accident and your fuel tank valve doesn't close, fuel could spill out and catch fire if there's an ignition source nearby.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will add an extra valve to your fuel tank to prevent leaks, and it's completely free. You should schedule the repair when you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 301, "FUEL SYSTEM INTEGRITY" A VALVE ON THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY MAY NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. IF A VEHICLE ROLLS OVER AND THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY VALVE IS NOT PROPERLY CLOSED, FUEL SPILLAGE MAY OCCUR.
