Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM)
Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) is like the brain of your engine, controlling how it runs. In some 2017-2019 Rogue Hybrid models, the bracket that holds this module could rub against the engine harness, damaging it.
Risk if Unfixed
If the harness gets damaged, a fuse could blow, causing your engine to shut down while driving. This could make it harder to control your vehicle and increase the chance of a collision.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will install a protective cover on the engine harness, so the ECM bracket can't damage it. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
