What Happened
The side airbags in your Elantra are designed to protect you in the event of a side crash. A small bracket attached to the roof above your head can sometimes come loose and potentially hurt you if the airbag deploys.
Risk if Unfixed
If this bracket hits you during a crash, it could cause a serious cut or laceration. This is a real risk, especially if you're not wearing a seatbelt.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will add a special adhesive strip to the roof of your car to keep the bracket in place, completely free of charge. You'll get a notice in the mail, and it's essential to schedule the repair as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
Hyundai Motor Company is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 Elantra vehicles manufactured from November 12, 2010, through March 5, 2013. A support bracket attached to the headliner may become displaced during a side curtain airbag deployment.

If the headliner support bracket makes contact with an occupant during a crash, it may cause a laceration injury.
Original — Remedy
Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will apply adhesive strips to the headliner, free of charge. The safety recall began during April 2013. Owners may contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai's recall campaign number is 109.
