What Happened
The MAF sensor in your Sonata or Elantra is like a traffic cop for your engine, making sure the right amount of air is getting in. The wiring that connects it can get damaged by engine vibrations, causing it to send the wrong signal.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring gets damaged, your engine could stall at low speeds, which could cause you to lose control and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will re-route the wiring harness to protect the MAF sensor and prevent engine stalling. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
