What Happened
The electric cooling fan in your vehicle helps keep your engine cool. In some cases, this fan can overheat and cause damage to your engine.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fan overheats, it could cause a fire in the engine compartment. This is a serious risk that could lead to a vehicle fire.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the faulty cooling fan with a new one, free of charge. You should contact them as soon as possible to schedule the repair.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS, SOME ELECTRIC COOLING FANS MAY OVERHEAT POTENTIALLY CAUSING HEAT DAMAGE AND, IN RARE INSTANCES, A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
