What Happened
The fuel pump in your vehicle is a critical part that sends gasoline from the tank to your engine. Over time, it can crack and fail in hot climates and with poor fuel quality.
Risk if Unfixed
If your fuel pump cracks, you might smell fuel or see a leak. If there's an ignition source nearby, this could cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your authorized Volvo dealer will inspect the fuel pump and replace it with a redesigned one, free of charge. Schedule a visit as soon as you get this notice.

VOLVO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2001-2005 S80, MODEL YEAR 2001-2004 V70, S60, XC70 AND MODEL YEAR 2003-2005 XC90 VEHICLES SOLD IN OR REGISTERED IN THE STATES OF ALABAMA, ARIZONA, ARKANSAS, CALIFORNIA, FLORIDA, GEORGIA, HAWAII, KENTUCKY, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, NEVADA, NEW MEXICO, NORTH CAROLINA, OKLAHOMA, SOUTH CAROLINA, TENNESSEE, TEXAS, UTAH, VIRGINIA AND THE U.S. TERRITORIES. What Happened
The master cylinder is a crucial part of your vehicle's brake system, responsible for distributing brake fluid to all four wheels. Some replacement master cylinders, made by Cardone, have a faulty seal that can leak brake fluid.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake fluid leaks out, your brakes won't work as well, and you might lose stopping power – which could lead to a serious collision.
Free Fix
The manufacturer, Cardone, will give you a full refund for any defective master cylinder they sold you. They'll also start notifying owners in April 2007, and you can contact them at 1-800-777-4780 to learn more.

What Happened
