What Happened
Your vehicle has a special key that could fold up while driving, which might accidentally turn off the engine, posing a risk of a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If your key folds up and turns off the engine while driving, you might lose control of the vehicle, and in a crash, the airbags might not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury.
Free Fix
We'll fix this for free by inserting a spacer into the key slot at a dealership, and you'll be notified by mail when it's time to bring your vehicle in.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Rogue and 2017-2022 Rogue Sport vehicles equipped with a jackknife style ignition key. The jackknife key may collapse into a folded position while driving.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Driver contact with a key in the collapsed position could inadvertently shut off the vehicle while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, if the vehicle shuts off while driving, the air bags may not deploy in a crash as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will insert a spacer into the key slot of the jackknife key, free of charge. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 29, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R22C5.

What Happened
Your 2014-2016 Nissan Rogue's electrical system is being recalled because a connector under the dashboard might corrode from water and salt.
Risk if Unfixed
If the connector corrodes, you might experience problems with your windows and seats, warning lights on your dashboard, car battery issues, and even a fire.
Free Fix
Nissan will replace the corroded connector and fix the harness for free, and they've already sent you a letter about it; you can also call them at 1-800-867-7669 to confirm.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Rogue vehicles. The electrical connector for the under dash harness may corrode due to water and salt intrusion from the driver's side foot well.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Corrosion in the electrical connector can result in power window/seat failure, all-wheel-drive warning light illumination, battery drainage, and electrical connector damage that increases the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will remove the harness tape and harness covering and replace both connectors and apply white lithium grease to the connectors as necessary, free of charge. There's a special wiring connector in your Rogue that helps your car's electrical systems work. Water and salt can seep in through the carpet near this connector and cause a short circuit.
Risk if Unfixed
If this short happens, it could cause a fire in your vehicle. This is a serious situation that could put you and others at risk.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will check the wiring harness connector and replace it if needed with a new, water-resistant version. This repair is free, and you'll get a notice with instructions on how and when to schedule the fix.

Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured March 7, 2007, to November 26, 2013, and 2014 Nissan Rogue Select vehicles manufactured September 23, 2013, to July 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector and will if necessary install a new harness connector and waterproof seal, free of charge. The recall began on February 26, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
