What Happened
The occupant classification system in your vehicle is a computer that helps determine if someone is sitting in the front passenger seat. It's connected to a sensor that's usually hidden behind the seat. In some 2023-2024 Audi models, this connection can come loose and stop the front passenger air bag from working.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag doesn't deploy in a crash, the front passenger could be more likely to get hurt. This is a serious safety issue that could lead to severe injuries.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the faulty occupant detection system control module with a new one, free of charge. You'll receive a notification letter, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2023 Audi S5 Cabriolet, A4 Allroad, Q5 Sportback, A3 Sedan, S5 Sportback, SQ7, TT Coupe, TT Roadster, RS5 Sportback, 2024 A8, E-Tron Quattro, E-Tron Sportback Quattro, Q8, RSQ8, 2023-2024 Q3, Q5, and Q7 vehicles. An electrical connection in the front passenger seat for the occupant detection system (ODS) control module may loosen and deactivate the front passenger air bag.

A deactivated front passenger air bag will not deploy during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Dealers will replace the passenger seat occupant detection system control module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 8, 2024. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 69GU.

What Happened
The side air bag in your vehicle is designed to protect you in a side crash. Unfortunately, in some 2023-2024 Audi models, it might not be securely attached to the seatback frame.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a side crash and the air bag isn't properly attached, it could fail to restrain you as it should. This increases the risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will check the air bag's mounting and make sure it's secure, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2023-2024 SQ8, RSQ8, Q8, Q7, and 2024 SQ7 vehicles. The driver's seat side air bag may have been improperly mounted to the seatback frame. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 214, "Side Impact Protection."

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

What Happened
The rearview camera system in your vehicle relies on software to show you what's behind your car. In some 2019-2026 Audi models, this software can fail, preventing the camera image from appearing on your screen.
Risk if Unfixed
Without a clear view of what's behind your car, you could be more likely to crash into a person, object, or another vehicle when reversing.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will update the software to fix the issue, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2019-2026 vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. A software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
