SEAT BELTS Safety Recalls

High Priority #23V158000 Plain English
Component

SEAT BELTS:FRONT:BUCKLE ASSEMBLY

Manufacturer
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
What Happened
The front seat belt buckle is the part that keeps you secure in your seat. In some 2017-2020 CR-V, Accord, Odyssey, Insight, and 2019-2020 Acura RDX models, a manufacturing flaw can make it hard for the buckle to latch properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the buckle doesn't latch, it won't hold you in place during a crash. This increases the risk of serious injury or harm.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will replace the faulty seat belt buckle release buttons or assemblies – at no charge to you. You'll get a recall notice, but if you contact them before then, you can schedule the fix earlier.

Original — What Happened
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2020 CR-V, 2018-2019 Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019 Insight, and 2019-2020 Acura RDX vehicles. A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver and front passenger seat belt buckle release buttons or the buckle assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 18, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are NDA, QDB, BDC, MDD, LD9. TDF, FDG, ODH, YDI, ZDE.

SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONER

Manufacturer
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
What Happened
The seatbelt pretensioner is a crucial part that helps tighten your seatbelt in a crash to keep you safe. In some 2019 Honda Insight, Odyssey, and Ridgeline models, the pretensioner might not work because of a flaw in the control unit.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash and the airbags or seatbelt pretensioners don't deploy as they should, you may be at greater risk of injury because your seatbelt won't tighten to keep you secure.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will replace the faulty SRS control unit with a new one at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.
