What Happened
Your vehicle's fuel system has a small part called the fuel filter heater. It's supposed to keep diesel fuel from getting too cold during winter, but it might get stuck on forever.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your battery could drain, and you might not be able to start your car. In the worst case, the heater could overheat and cause a fire.
Free Fix
BMW will fix this for free by replacing the faulty part. They'll contact you to schedule the repair, and all you need to do is show up at the dealership.
