Component
AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The airbag in your passenger seat could be the part that saves you in a crash. But in certain older BMW models, the airbag inflator might not work properly if it's been exposed to high humidity and heat for a long time.
Risk if Unfixed
If the airbag inflator explodes, it could send sharp metal fragments flying into you or your passengers, causing serious injury or even death.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty airbag with a new one, free of charge. They'll do this as soon as possible, and you should not drive your vehicle until the repair is done.
