What Happened
The air bag inflator in your vehicle's passenger side is a critical safety component that deploys in a crash to cushion the impact. In your 2007-2014 BMW, it's possible the inflator could fail and explode in a crash, causing serious harm.
Risk if Unfixed
If the inflator explodes, sharp metal fragments could shoot towards you and other occupants in the vehicle, leading to life-threatening injuries or even death.
Free Fix
Don't drive your vehicle until you've had the repair done. Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty air bag module with a new one, at no cost to you. They'll take care of it as soon as possible after you receive the recall notice.
