Critical #10V579000 Plain English
Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Manufacturer
VOLVO CARS OF N.A. LLC.
What Happened
The software in your vehicle's engine control module is responsible for managing the fuel cut-off function. In some 2011 S80, S60, XC70, and XC60 models, this software is too sensitive and could shut off your engine unexpectedly.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens while you're driving, your engine could stall suddenly, which increases the risk of a crash. This is a serious situation that could put you and others in danger.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will update the software in your engine control module and transmission control module for free. This repair is covered, and you should schedule it as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.
