The seat belt pretensioner is a crucial part in your Expedition's or Navigator's seat belts. It helps tighten the belt in a crash. In some 2018-2022 models, this part can get stuck, causing the belt to get stuck in the extended or retracted position.
Risk if Unfixed
If the seat belt is stuck, it won't protect you like it's supposed to in a crash. You could be hurt more seriously than you would have been if the belt was working correctly.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will check and replace the seat belt retractors as needed, free of charge. You'll get a letter when the fix is available, probably in August 2026. In the meantime, if you have any concerns, call Ford at 1-866-436-7332.
