ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL

Manufacturer
Ford Motor Company
What Happened
The integrated trailer brake control is a system that helps you control your trailer's brakes and turn signals while towing. In some 2021-2026 F-Series and 2022-2027 Lincoln models, this system can lose connection with your vehicle.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your trailer's brake and turn signal lights might not work, or your trailer brakes could fail. This could make it hard to control the trailer, especially at night, and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will update the integrated trailer module software for free. This can be done at the dealership or remotely through an over-the-air update. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice.
