What Happened
The integrated trailer brake control in your vehicle is a computer system that helps control your trailer's brake lights and signals. In some 2021-2026 F-150 models, this system may lose communication with your vehicle while towing a trailer.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your trailer's brake and turn signal lights could fail, or the brakes might not work properly, making it harder to control the trailer and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will update the integrated trailer module software, either in-person or remotely through an over-the-air update, at no cost to you. You should schedule this update as soon as you receive the recall notice.
