What Happened
The child seat tether on your Jeep Grand Cherokee L helps keep a child safe in the second row by anchoring the car seat. In some cases, the welds that hold this tether can be weak.

Your Jeep dealer will reinforce the child seat tether welds to make them stronger and safer, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles.  The child seat tether welds on the second-row seat back frame may be insufficient, which can reduce the seat's ability to properly restrain a child during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

Dealers will reinforce the child seat tether welds on the seat back frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 3, 2024. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 85B.
