What Happened
The air bag control module in your Jeep Grand Cherokee is a computer that helps deploy the side air bags during a crash. In certain 2022-2026 models, a software glitch can cause these air bags to deploy late or not at all.
Risk if Unfixed
If the side air bags don't deploy quickly enough during a crash, you could be at higher risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Jeep dealer will update the air bag control module software to fix the glitch, and this repair will be done for you at no charge. You'll get a recall notice in the mail, and you should schedule the fix as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2023-2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. A software error in the occupant restraint controller module may cause the delayed deployment of the side air bags during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 214, "Side Impact Protection."

Dealers will update the occupant restraint controller module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 11, 2026. What Happened
The high-voltage battery in your Jeep Wrangler 4Xe or Grand Cherokee 4Xe powers your electric motor. In some 2020-2025 and 2022-2026 models, this battery could fail, causing a fire.
Risk if Unfixed
If the battery fails while your vehicle is parked or driving, it could catch fire, posing a serious risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your Jeep dealer will update the battery software and replace the high-voltage battery if necessary – completely free of charge. For now, park your vehicle outside, away from structures, and don't charge it until the repair is done.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.

Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. Vehicles that were previously recalled for the same issue under NHTSA Recalls 24V720 and 23V787 will need to have the new remedy performed.

The hybrid control processor in your Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEV is a computer that helps manage the power from both the electric motor and the gasoline engine. In certain 2022-2026 models, a software glitch could cause this system to malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If the software error occurs, your vehicle could lose drive power, making it harder to control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Chrysler dealer will update the hybrid control processor software to fix the issue, completely free of charge. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the recall notice.
