What Happened
Your Volvo S80 has a system that checks the air pressure in your tires. But in some 2007-2010 models, this system has incorrect settings that could cause problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If your tires are not inflated correctly, you could be driving with a higher risk of a blowout, which could cause a loss of control and a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will update the information label on your tire and update the software for the tire pressure monitoring system. This service is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
VOLVO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007-2010 S80 VEHICLES FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 110, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THE TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL AND A PAGE IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL CONTAIN INCORRECT MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE INFLATION PRESSURE AND THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) SOFTWARE HAS AN INCORRECT TRIGGER LEVEL.

DEALERS WILL UPDATE THE VEHICLES WITH A NEW TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL, OWNER'S MANUAL LABEL AND TPMS SOFTWARE. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE.
