What Happened
The tires on your Ram 4500 or 5500 cab chassis truck are rated for a maximum speed of 87 mph, but your truck can go faster. This is because the electronic speed limiter is set too high.
Risk if Unfixed
If you drive your truck over 87 mph, your tires could fail without warning, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will update the electronic control unit software to limit your truck's speed to 87 mph, so it matches the tire's speed rating. This repair is free, and you'll be notified when it's time to schedule the update.
