BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Manufacturer
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)
What Happened
The rearview camera system in your vehicle is a critical safety feature that helps you see what's behind you. However, in some 2019-2025 models, contamination in the computer or incorrect programming might prevent the camera image from showing up on your screen.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera image doesn't display, you'll have a reduced view of what's behind your vehicle, which could lead to a collision, especially when reversing.
Free Fix
Your authorized Chrysler dealer will update the computer system or replace it as needed, at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair once you receive the recall notice – it's on the house.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019 and 2023 Chrysler Pacifica, 2024 Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Original — Risk if Unfixed
A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Manufacturer
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)
What Happened
Your Jeep Wrangler has a rearview camera that helps you see what's behind your vehicle. The wiring that connects this camera and your center brake light could short circuit, causing the camera and brake light to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the camera image doesn't show up, you'll have a harder time seeing what's behind you, which could lead to a crash. Additionally, if the center brake light doesn't turn on, other drivers might not know you're slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will fix the wiring for the camera and brake light at no cost to you. They'll replace the faulty wiring, so you can drive with confidence and visibility.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a center brake light that fails to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403.
