What Happened
The park lock rod in your transmission is a small rod that helps keep your vehicle in 'PARK' gear. In some 2018 models of the Dodge Charger, Durango, Challenger, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Chrysler 300, and RAM 1500, the wrong type of rod might have been installed.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wrong rod is in your transmission, it could fail to engage the 'PARK' gear, and your vehicle might roll away when you leave it. This could cause an accident if you're not in control of your vehicle.

The driver's seat belt buckle is a critical part that keeps you safe in case of an accident. In some 2011-2018 Jeep Wrangler models, the strap that holds this buckle in place can break and detach from the seat.

If the seat belt buckle strap breaks, the buckle won't work properly. This means you won't be securely restrained in your seat, which increases the risk of serious injury or harm in a crash.

What Happened
The wiring in your vehicle is like the nervous system that helps your car's systems talk to each other. In some models, there's a risk of a short circuit that could prevent your cruise control from shutting off when you need it to.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cruise control gets stuck on, your vehicle could keep going at the same speed or even speed up, even if you press the brake pedal or try to turn it off. This could increase the risk of a collision.
Free Fix
Your dealership will update the software that controls your cruise control for free, so you should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice. In the meantime, stop using cruise control, and if it gets stuck, press the brake firmly and shift into neutral to bring your vehicle to a stop.

These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light.
