What Happened
The heating pads behind your side mirrors are supposed to keep the mirror glass from freezing in cold weather. In some 2020-2021 Pilot, Ridgeline, 2020-2022 Passport, and 2020-2022 Odyssey models, these pads might not be properly attached.
Risk if Unfixed
If the mirror glass comes loose, you could lose your rearview, which is crucial for safe driving. This could lead to a crash, especially when changing lanes or reversing.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will replace both side-view mirrors with new ones that are securely attached, at no cost to you. You'll get a notice in the mail, but feel free to contact Honda customer service if you have questions.

Original — What Happened
Honda (American Honda Motor Co) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Pilot and Ridgeline, and 2020-2022 Passport and Odyssey vehicles. The heating pads behind both side-view mirrors may not be bonded properly, allowing the mirror glass to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
