Manufacturer

What Happened
The flexible steel cable in your vehicle's front seatbelts could break over time. This cable connects the seatbelt to your seat, so if it fails, your seatbelt might not work properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cable breaks, your seatbelt may not keep you safe in a crash, which could lead to serious injury.
Free Fix
Your dealership will inspect your seatbelt and replace the lap pretensioner if necessary, all for free. You'll get a letter with instructions on when to schedule the fix, and you can also call 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-462-8782 (GMC), or 1-800-553-6000 (Saturn) to learn more.
