What Happened
The driver's air bag in your Enclave or Traverse is a critical safety device that deploys in a crash to cushion the impact. Unfortunately, some of these air bags were made with a faulty inflator that could explode during deployment.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag inflator explodes, it could send sharp metal fragments flying towards you or your passengers, causing serious injury or even death.
Free Fix
Your authorized dealer will replace the faulty air bag module with a safe and reliable one – at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure everyone's safety.

Original — What Happened
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2008-2017 Buick Enclave and 2013-2017 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles. The driver's air bag inflator may explode during deployment, due to a manufacturing defect.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.

Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on November 3, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 10, 2022. What Happened
The side curtain air bags in your vehicle are designed to protect you and your passengers in the event of a rollover or side impact. However, in certain 2010-2015, 2017 Buick Enclave, 2010-2019 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2011-2016 GMC Acadia models, these air bags might not be properly attached.
Risk if Unfixed
If the side curtain air bags aren't secure, they might not deploy as intended in a rollover or side impact crash. This could leave you and your passengers more vulnerable to injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the air bag attachment and, if needed, realign or replace the weld nuts to ensure your air bags are secure. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.

What Happened
The steel cable that connects your seatbelt to the front seat in your vehicle could weaken over time and break, which would make your seatbelt less effective in a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cable breaks, your seatbelt might not keep you safe in a collision, increasing the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect your seatbelt system and replace the lap pretensioner if necessary, at no cost to you. You'll receive a notice in July 2014, and a second notice will come once the replacement parts are available.

Original — What Happened
General Motors is recalling certain model year 2009-2014 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through May 14, 2014, Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured June 6, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured April 9, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and 2009-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through March 18, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue and separate over time.

If the steel cable becomes fatigued and separates, the seatbelt may not properly restrain the seat occupant increasing the risk of an injury in a crash.
Original — Remedy
General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair and replace the lap pretensioner, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. An interim notice will be mailed to owners in July 2014. A second notice will be mailed to owners once parts become available. The recall for the 2009-2010 model years began on July 11, 2014. The interim letter for the 2011-2014 model years were distributed on July 11, 2014. What Happened
The side impact air bag in your vehicle is designed to deploy in a crash to help protect you and your passengers. In some 2008-2013 Buick Enclaves, GMC Acadias, 2009-2013 Chevrolet Traverses, and 2008-2010 Saturn Outlooks, the wiring that powers this air bag could become too resistant, preventing it from deploying.
Risk if Unfixed
If your vehicle is in a crash, the side impact air bag and seat belt pretensioners might not work as they should. This could lead to serious injury or harm to you and the person sitting beside you.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty wiring connections with new ones that use solder, which is a more reliable connection method. This repair is completely free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia and 2009-2013 Chevrolet Traverse and 2008-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles. In the affected vehicles, increased resistance in the driver and passenger seat mounted side impact air bag (SIAB) wiring harnesses may result in the SIAB and seat belt pretensioners not deploying in the event of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected harness connections with soldered connections, free of charge. The recall began on June 16, 2014.
