What Happened
The compression springs in your third-row seats are what hold the backrest in place. In some 2019-2022 BMW X7 models, these springs might not have been installed correctly, which could cause them to come loose.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash, your seat backrest might not lock properly, which could lead to serious injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the third-row seat, fix any loose springs, and add any missing ones for free. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
