What Happened
The front passenger knee air bag in your vehicle is designed to protect you in the event of a crash. Unfortunately, in certain 2023-2024 models, this air bag might not deploy properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash and the front passenger knee air bag doesn't work as it should, you could be more likely to get hurt. This is a serious safety concern that we want to address right away.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty knee air bag with a new one, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice, and it will be done free of charge.

Risk if Unfixed
If the integrated brake system fails, you could lose power brake assist, making it harder to stop your vehicle. You could also lose control of your vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty integrated brake module with a new one, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible once you receive the recall notice.

Please see the recall report for a complete list of models and model years. The integrated brake (IB) system may malfunction and result in a loss of power brake assist or cause the Antilock Brake (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) systems to not function properly.

A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle. Additionally, malfunctioning ABS and/or DSC systems can cause a loss of vehicle control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the integrated brake module, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed November 22, 2024. Second letters will be mailed once the parts are available. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. Vehicles in this recall were previously repaired under recall number 24V-104 and will need to have the new remedy completed.

What Happened
The integrated brake control module in your vehicle is a complex system that helps you stop smoothly and safely. It's made up of a servomotor that's held together by welds, but in some 2023-2025 models, these welds can break, causing problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If the servomotor welds break, you could lose power brake assist or rear brake function. This means it'll take longer to stop, and you might have trouble controlling your vehicle. Either way, it increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty brake system for you, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice in the mail.
