Component
FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The high-pressure fuel pump in your vehicle is the part that delivers gasoline from the tank to your engine. In certain 2019-2020 models, it might not be securely attached, which could lead to a fuel leak.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump flange cracks and leaks fuel, it could spill onto a hot engine or exhaust component and cause a fire. This is a serious risk that could cause significant damage or even injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the high-pressure fuel pump with a secure one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
