What Happened
The headlight switch in your vehicle controls your headlights. Over time, it may wear out and stop working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the switch fails, your headlights might not turn on or could go on and off randomly, making it harder to see at night and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the headlight switch with a new one, free of charge. If your switch is already damaged, they'll replace it too. You should contact Volvo at 1-800-458-1552 to schedule the repair.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH MAY CEASE TO FUNCTION.

THE HEAD LIGHTS MAY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY WHICH COULD RESULT IN INTERMITTENT OR NO HEADLIGHT FUNCTION. THIS COULD IMPAIR A DRIVER'S VISIBILITY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Original — Remedy
ON VEHICLES WITH AN ORIGINAL OEM SWITCH, DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. ALL OTHER VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED TO DETERMINE IF THE SWITCH HAS EEN DAMAGED AND REPLACE ONLY IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 24, 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT VOLVO AT 1-800-458-1552.

What Happened
The turn signal bulbs in your vehicle are the lights that flash to let other drivers know you're turning. In some cases, the bulbs might not be making good contact with their sockets, which can stop the turn signals from working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your turn signals don't work, you might not be able to warn other drivers that you're turning, which could cause a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the front turn signal bulbs and sockets with new ones to ensure your signals work correctly – at no cost to you.
