What Happened
The fuel pump in your vehicle is a critical part that sends gasoline from the tank to your engine. Over time, it can crack and leak fuel in hot climates with varying fuel quality.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump cracks, you might notice a strong gasoline smell and/or fuel leak. If an ignition source is present, this could cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will inspect the fuel pump and replace it with a modified, leak-resistant one at no cost to you. Schedule the repair as soon as possible to prevent any potential issues.

VOLVO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2001-2005 S80, MODEL YEAR 2001-2004 V70, S60, XC70 AND MODEL YEAR 2003-2005 XC90 VEHICLES SOLD IN OR REGISTERED IN THE STATES OF ALABAMA, ARIZONA, ARKANSAS, CALIFORNIA, FLORIDA, GEORGIA, HAWAII, KENTUCKY, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, NEVADA, NEW MEXICO, NORTH CAROLINA, OKLAHOMA, SOUTH CAROLINA, TENNESSEE, TEXAS, UTAH, VIRGINIA AND THE U.S. TERRITORIES. What Happened
Your vehicle's brake light system has two relays that help your brake lights work. In some cases, these relays can malfunction, making it hard for other drivers to see when you're slowing down.

What Happened
The driver's air bag in your V70 or XC70 is designed to protect you in a crash. But in your 2001-2007 model, the air bag's propellant can degrade over time, causing a potentially deadly explosion.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag inflates with a faulty propellant, it could burst apart and send sharp metal pieces into the driver's face or body, leading to serious injury or even death.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will replace the driver's air bag with a safer, updated one at no cost to you. Make sure to schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice in the mail.

Original — What Happened
Volvo Cars USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2001-2007 V70 and XC70 vehicles. The driver's air bag inflator may explode during deployment, due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
