What Happened
The tire pressure monitoring system in your S80 is the part that warns you when your tires are underinflated. Unfortunately, the information on your tire pressure label and in your owner's manual is incorrect, and the system's software has a faulty trigger level.
Risk if Unfixed
If you rely on this system to stay safe, you could drive on underinflated tires, which could lead to a blowout and loss of control of your vehicle.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will update the label, owner's manual, and software for the tire pressure monitoring system, completely free of charge. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice, which is expected to go out on August 27, 2010.

Original — What Happened
VOLVO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007-2010 S80 VEHICLES FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 110, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THE TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL AND A PAGE IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL CONTAIN INCORRECT MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE INFLATION PRESSURE AND THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) SOFTWARE HAS AN INCORRECT TRIGGER LEVEL.
