What Happened
The front bumper cover on your Highlander or Highlander Hybrid is a protective panel that absorbs and distributes minor impacts. In some 2020-2023 models, it may come loose or even detach during normal driving.
Risk if Unfixed
If the front bumper cover detaches while you're driving, it could become a hazard on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will inspect and repair or replace the front bumper cover, if necessary, at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Highlander & Highlander Hybrid vehicles. During normal vehicle operation, minor impact to the front lower bumper cover may result in the cover coming loose or detaching.

A detached front bumper cover can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will repair or replace the upper and lower front bumper covers as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 22, 2024. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 23TB12/23TA12.
