What Happened
The aftermarket windshield on your 2014-2018 Toyota Highlander has a special wire harness attached to it. Water can seep into this harness and reach the Engine Control Module (ECM), which is like the brain of your engine.
Risk if Unfixed
If water damages the ECM, your engine could suddenly stall while you're driving, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your service center will replace the faulty windshield, inspect the ECM for damage, and replace it if needed – all at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair once you receive the recall notice.
