What Happened
The airbag inflator in your vehicle is a critical component that helps deploy airbags in the event of a crash. In some cases, this inflator wasn't assembled correctly, which could leave it without enough fuel to properly inflate the airbag.
Risk if Unfixed
If your airbag doesn't inflate properly during a crash, you could be at risk of serious injury while sitting in that seat.

Your dealer will replace the faulty airbag inflator with a new one, free of charge. This repair is urgent, so be sure to schedule it as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, DUE TO IMPROPER ASSEMBLY OF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR, WHICH IS USED IN THE SIDE AIR BAG, THE CURTAIN SHIELD AIR BAG, AND THE KNEE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY, SOME INFLATORS WERE PRODUCED WITH AN INSUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF THE HEATING AGENTS NECESSARY FOR PROPER AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. IN THIS CONDITION, THE EXPANSION FORCE OF THE GAS MAY BE INSUFFICIENT TO PROPERLY INFLATE THE AIR BAG WHEN THE SRS SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED DURING A CRASH.
