What Happened
The windshield wiper motor in your Outlander is the part that powers your windshield wipers. Water can enter the motor and cause it to fail over time.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiper motor fails, you could lose visibility on the road, especially in the rain or snow, which could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your Mitsubishi dealer will replace the faulty wiper motor with a new one, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible after getting the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain 2007-2013 Outlander vehicles. In the affected vehicles, water may drop between the hood and the windshield and leak into the wiper motor breathing hole. The water may cause internal corrosion of the windshield wiper motor and the possible failure of the motor.

Failure of the wiper motor can cause a loss of visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

MMNA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wiper motor, free of charge. The recall began July 28, 2017. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. MMNA's number for this recall is SR-17-003.

What Happened
The wiper linkages in your Outlander are the parts that connect your windshield wipers to your wiper motor. Over time, water can seep into the area and corrode these linkages, causing them to break.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiper linkages fail, your wipers could stop working completely. This would make it hard to see while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Mitsubishi dealer will replace the protective boot around the wiper link ball joint to keep water out, and inspect the wiper motor arm for any excessive play. If needed, they'll replace it too, all at no cost to you.

Original — What Happened
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain model year 2007-2013 Outlander vehicles manufactured September 8, 2006, to March 29, 2013. In the affected vehicles, water may enter between the hood and windshield and cause the front wiper link ball joint to corrode, possibly resulting in the wiper link separating and the wipers becoming inoperative.

Loss of wiper function can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
MMNA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rubber boot on the ball joint to prevent water intrusion. Additionally, they will inspect the wiper motor crank arm for excessive play, replacing it as necessary. These repairs will be done free of charge. The recall began on July 28, 2017. What Happened
The blower motor in your vehicle is responsible for blowing warm air through your defroster and heater. In certain 2009-2011 Mitsubishi models, this motor can fail without warning.
Risk if Unfixed
If the blower motor fails, your windshield defroster won't work properly, reducing your visibility. This could make it hard to see while driving, especially in rainy or snowy conditions, and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Mitsubishi dealer will replace the faulty blower motor with a new one, at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

In the affected vehicles, the blower motor may fail.
