What Happened
The fuel pump in your vehicle is the part that sends gasoline from the tank to your engine. In certain models, this pump can fail without warning while you're driving, causing an engine stall.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump fails on the road, your engine will suddenly shut off while you're driving. This could make it hard to control your vehicle and increase the chance of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will fix the issue once a permanent remedy is available, which is expected to be in the 2nd Quarter of 2026. In the meantime, you're advised to contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 for more information.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator, Mustang, F-150, and 2022 Expedition vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump may fail, which can result in an engine stall while driving.

The remedy is under development. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 16, 2025.
