What Happened
The brake hoses in your Fusion or Lincoln MKZ are like the flexible tubes that carry brake fluid from the master cylinder to your brake calipers. In some 2013-2018 models, these hoses could burst and leak brake fluid.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake hoses rupture, you'll notice your brake pedal getting softer and farther to press, and it'll take longer to stop your vehicle. This could lead to a longer stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will replace the faulty brake hoses with new ones, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible after receiving your recall notice.
