What Happened
Your vehicle's brake master cylinder may have a faulty connection that can leak brake fluid, affecting your brakes.
Risk if Unfixed
If this isn't fixed, you could experience reduced braking performance, which could increase your risk of being in a crash.
Free Fix
A dealership will replace the brake tubes for free, at no cost to you, starting in August 2010.

Original — What Happened
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 LEFT HAND DRIVE JEEP LIBERTY, DODGE NITRO AND RAM 1500 TRUCK; RIGHT AND LEFT HAND DRIVE JEEP WRANGLER VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN IMPROPERLY FORMED MASTER CYLINDER TO HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) BRAKE TUBE ASSEMBLY END FLARE.

What Happened
The brake tubes in your Jeep Wrangler are the pipes that carry brake fluid to your front and rear brakes. In some 2007-2010 models, these tubes might rub against the inner fender liners and wear down, causing a leak.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake tubes leak, you could lose some braking power at one wheel. This increases the risk of a crash, especially on slippery or uneven roads.
Free Fix
Your Chrysler dealer will inspect and repair the brake tubes to prevent leaks, all for free. You'll be notified when it's time to bring your vehicle in.

CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007 THROUGH 2010 JEEP WRANGLER LEFT AND RIGHT HAND DRIVE PASSENGER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 15, 2006 THROUGH APRIL 22, 2010. THERE MAY BE CONTACT BETWEEN THE RIGHT AND LEFT FRONT INNER FENDER LINERS AND THE RIGHT FRONT AND LEFT REAR BRAKE TUBES WHICH COULD CAUSE WEAR OF THE TUBES CAUSING A BRAKE FLUID LEAK.
