What Happened
The rearview camera system in your vehicle uses the radio to display what's behind you. In certain models, a software glitch could prevent the image from showing up.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview image doesn't display, you'll have reduced visibility when reversing. This increases the risk of a collision or a crash, especially in tight spaces.
Free Fix
Your dealer will update the radio software for free, so the rearview image shows up correctly. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Dodge Durango, 2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Chrysler Voyager, 2022-2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram Promaster vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Dealers will update the radio software or the software will be OTA, "Over-The-Air," free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 9, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's numbers for this recall are 66B and 79B.

The rearview camera system in your Jeep Grand Cherokee helps you see what's behind your vehicle when you're backing up. But on some 2023 models, the camera image might not appear on your screen.

Your Jeep dealer will check and securely connect the display screen module, making sure the camera image shows up properly. This repair is done at no cost to you, and it's already been completed for all affected vehicles.

The rearview camera display is a feature that shows you what's behind your vehicle when you're in reverse. In some 2022-2024 Jeep models, the screen might not show you what's behind your vehicle while you're reversing.
