What Happened
The high voltage battery in your Wrangler 4Xe or Grand Cherokee 4Xe is a critical component that powers your vehicle's electric system. It could fail internally, causing a fire that could lead to serious injury.
Risk if Unfixed
A vehicle fire can cause severe burns, injuries, or even fatalities. This is a serious risk, especially if you're parked near flammable materials or in an enclosed space.
Free Fix
Your dealer will update the battery software, and replace the high voltage battery if necessary, all at no cost to you. This will prevent a potential fire hazard, and you'll be safe to drive your vehicle once the repair is complete.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning November 6, 2025. Vehicles that were previously recalled for the same issue under NHTSA Recalls 24V720 and 23V787 will need to have the new remedy performed.

The hybrid control processor in your Jeep Grand Cherokee PHEV is like the brain of the vehicle – it manages how the electric motor and gasoline engine work together. In some 2022-2026 models, a software glitch could cause this brain to malfunction.

If this happens, you could lose power while driving, making it harder to control your vehicle. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Jeep dealer will update the software in your vehicle's hybrid control processor at no cost to you. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the recall notice or contact customer service at 800-853-1403 for more information.
