What Happened
The backup camera in your vehicle is a small camera that shows you what's behind your car when you're reversing. If your 2018 Dodge Journey or RAM 1500, 2500, or 3500 has this issue, the camera image might not appear while you're backing up.
Risk if Unfixed
If the backup camera image disappears while you're reversing, you won't have a clear view of what's behind your vehicle. This increases the risk of a crash, especially when parking or reversing in tight spaces.
Free Fix
Your Chrysler dealer will replace the rearview mirror with a new one that includes a working backup camera, completely free of charge. You'll receive a notice with instructions on how to schedule the repair.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Dodge Journey and RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 vehicles. The backup camera may experience a loss of image display while backing up. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rearview mirror, free of charge. The recall began August 2, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U56.
