ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING

Manufacturer

The wiring in your vehicle is a network of electrical pathways that sends signals to various parts, like your cruise control. In some 2014-2018 models, a short circuit in this wiring could cause problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If a short circuit occurs while you're using cruise control, you might not be able to turn it off, even if you press the brake pedal. This could cause your vehicle to maintain its speed or even speed up, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Chrysler dealer will update the software in your vehicle's engine or powertrain control module for free. You should stop using cruise control until the repair is done, and if you encounter the problem while driving, firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift into neutral when it's safe to do so.

Original — Remedy
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed.
