Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE
Manufacturer
Chrysler (FCA US LLC)
What Happened
The engine cover on your Dodge Journey is a metal shield that protects the engine. In some 2011-2015 models with 2.4L engines, it might not be securely attached and could fly off while the engine is running.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the loose engine cover could touch the hot exhaust manifold, causing a risk of a vehicle fire.
Free Fix
Your authorized Dodge dealer will add a new mounting system to keep the engine cover in place, no charge to you. You'll get a notification when the repair is ready.
